     The Vietnam People's Army is the core force of the Vietnamese people's armed forces, an army that comes from the people, serves the people for the people, is ready to fight and die "for the independence and freedom of the People's Republic of Vietnam."      On December 22, 1944, under the Instruction of President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese propaganda and liberation team was established in a forest located between the two cantons Hoang Hoa Tham and Tran Hung Dao in Nguyen Binh and Cao Bang provinces. Comrade Vo Nguyen Giap was commissioned to lead by President Ho, the staff was divided into 3 platoons led by comrade Hoang Sam as captain and comrade Xich Thang as a politician. This was the first main unit of the revolutionary armed forces and the forerunner of the Vietnam People's Army.

     In April 1945, according to the decision of the Military Conference of Tonkin, Vietnam propagated the liberation of the army and the National Salvation Army was reunified on May 15, 1945, and named Vietnam Liberation Army. The reunification ceremony was held at Cho Chu (Thai Nguyen) with 13 companies.

     On the birth day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, our army was named the National Guard, marking the period of formation of the Vietnamese army. During the resistance war against the French, our army bears the most familiar name to this day, the Vietnam People's Army. It can be said that the Vietnam People's Army is the offspring of the revolutionary movement and the people.
